The recent shorts perplex me. First of all, why they exist at all (as you say, the availability of shorts for a company this small is unusual). Also, why is the amount of shorted shares so small.
The only thing I can think is that one of the recent funds buying in has been using short sales to tickle down the price to crush the SP and/or poison investor sentiment. But to what end?
Is it possible the company is planning a CR sometime soon? The most recent Director announcement hinted at the possibility. Surely Gu wouldn't be planning something like that at this point in time
