this report doesn't deserve the usual snippy and comments I've done through previous ones... EM1 aren't putting any effort in anymore, so neither will I..
the company has access to all of the interesting data re retention rates, daily usage etc, and is now deliberately deciding to withhold it from the market.. there's only one reason for that, if it was in any way, shape or form positive (or could be spun positive), they would be shouting it from the rooftops.. no one is actually using the platform on a regular basis..
the MTN numbers prove people are using the platform once or twice then ditching it.. in over 12 months they've only managed to get less than 3% of MTN's South African customer base to give their product a go.. expect similar "success" when they move into other countries
I will point out one interesting part though:
so ~2,500 new subscribers joined Miggster paying full price: why wasn't the ~$230k collected in the quarter also? those subs aren't anything to do with the C1 promos etc, so don't EM1 collect that cash immediately upfront? this is nothing to do with revenue recognition, where it is booked for accounting purposes over the subscription period, from a pure cash perspective it should already have been collected..?
