I don’t agree with your sentiment at all Swage_17. Dubber Go is the base service offering to Foundation Partners, we know that Dubber receives a flat fee for the service. I don’t agree this fee barely covers cloud storage or operational costs of the service. In fact, I've worked out the cloud storage costs to be between $32k - $41k per month as a worst case scenario with 510,000 subscribers.

    Here's the breakdown...

Dubber Go is call recording and call recording storage only, any uplift to that like AI, transcript…etc is charged accordingly.

Integration from UC or VOIP platforms is generally by way of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) or Realtime Protocol (RTP), mobile network protocols will vary. Regardless, Dubber would likely normalise the protocol and audio codec as the call is received by the Dubber eco-system using a Session Board Controller (SBC). They would want to normalise all these different feeds to ensure they have a consistent call format for their applications and AI engines to use. If they didn’t do this, it would add complexity, and therefore cost, to their application\AI development and testing to be compatible with all these different kinds of protocols and codecs… not to mention the licensing fees for using proprietary protocols and codecs.

Let’s assume they’re going to normalise the call format to SIP using the G.711 codec, an industry freeware standard, and then add compression on top of that to achieve roughly 0.5 MB per 1 minute of call recording data. We know Dubber uses SIP as they advertise for roles with an understanding of it. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?currentJobId=2910256056&f_C=2226261&geoId=92000000

As per Dubber Go Product sheet, call recordings have a retention period of 30 days and let’s say 20 business days of call recording data is being generated.

    6 hours a day of call recording = 360 minutes a day.
360 minutes over 20 business days out of 30 calendar days = 7,200 minutes.
    7,200 minutes over 510,000 subscribers = 3,672,000,000 minutes.
3,672,000,000 minutes of call recording data @ 0.5 MB per minute = 1,836,000,000 MB
1,836,000,000 MB conversion to GB = 1,792,968 GB

We know that Dubber utilises the AWS Platform, again from the skills required of the roles they are advertising on LinkedIn. Any decent cloud architect or engineer knows that AWS S3 or Azure Blob Storage are the go-to services for cost effective cloud storage.

AWS S3 Pricing is $0.023 per GB per month https://aws.amazon.com/s3/pricing/. 1,792,968 GB x $0.023 per GB = $41,238 monthly fee

AzureBlob Pricing is $0.018 per GB permonth - https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/storage/blobs/.1,792,968 GB x $0.018 per GB = $32,273 monthly fee
