Very good example! However it is also true that an analogue input does not go directly to a speaker. In fact, most speakers on the market will first digitise analogue input before performing digital signal processing on it (ever used the equiliser function? bass boost? those modes like "music hall", "stadium" etc?) before then ultimately converting the digital signal back into a sufficiently strong analogue signal connected to the loudspeakers.

Tidal is a good example of higher quality audio - I am 100% looking forward to having some high quality AKP speakers to replace my bose setup at the computer!
