I figure it's potential use is in mobile phones, where you don't necessarily need directional sound. You just want good quality sound, and being able to stack the speakers means they won't take up as much space inside of the phone, but you get a louder sound overall. That's all my opinion, but it does go along with the quarterly report about achieving higher SPL in the future, so this is the solution for now.
