Not sure the end of la nina will help. Historically, la nina gives less frost, warmer nights (when ponds lose temperature) and less huge heat waves.
Where as, Eel nino gives warmer weather, with long periods of heat extremes (not good for fish), drier, less snow, so less water in the catchment they are in.
Weather over annual projection or longer will still regress to the mean so will have little to no impact on growth performance for a 3 to 4 year growout.
Personally IMO, I would discount long term weather systems as reason for poor growth performance.
