Well at least this has cleared up something for me. The price of the cartridges going forward. I must say that it is a surprise but also fantastic at the same time. Why? Well it makes the competition look rather shite in my opinion.

If we go way back to the PITT St report they talked about selling the device and cartridges. They put numbers of $1000 for the device and $200 for each cartridge.

They came to this conclusion due to Zymot DxNow was/is selling at $200 per device.("the competition"). It takes about 5 minutes to prepare, wait 30 minutes for the sperm to swim and then another 5 minutes to get the sperm into another tube. So all round it'll take likely 40 minutes the process.

This was all discussed a while ago and we thought at the time saving of 6 minutes was going to be the killer key. But adding into this not only a time saver of 30+ minutes per sample (wow) then you also get (likely) better quality of sperm and at 50% discount. What 50% discount!

Ok so taking a step back we see that they have sold a Felix and 30 cartridges in Japan $4k in revenue. $1k for Felix leaves $3k for 30 cartridges so $100 a pop. While this reduces the profit margin that Pitt Street were expecting, it certainly gives off the idea that its now a real incentive for the clinics to start using the Felix when they can.

Personally, I think the biggest problem that MEM currently have is not convincing the clinics to use the Felix, it's the fact they likely have a large supply of inventory already and need to use these up before moving forward.

The other thing I like going forward is that we have seen some movement with staff. We haven't seen anything like this for many many years. Why now? Well they must believe that now is the right time. Things are starting to move and they're getting people into place for the commercialisation stage. Will it take time? Yes but when that happens I don't think we'll be anywhere in the single figures. Pitt street where talking 15c and then onto 20c+ and we nearly got there. Buying at these levels are a gift horse, and I didn't just look at it. Am I wrong? we'll see, but a small investment for me here could be lifechanging in a few years from now. CR is coming, but who knows when and at what price. Scary I know, but I'll be taking up any allocation given the chance.
