It's very difficult to "beat the market", one only has to look at the list of active funds that underperform or look at some of the terrible broker calls.
FDV is probably reasonably priced now I'm not sure of the imminent catalyst that might take it higher. I had a dabble but was happy to get out earlier this week.
Although I prefer LICs to Funds, mainly those that reinvest a portion of profits and grow over time.
