Seems to be similar to AKP's product in that it's able to generate more volume than a equivalent sized traditional speaker due to the much higher rate that it pushes air. My understanding is that it's similar to a pump in that the ultrasound (air pressure) gets stored an released at a time that corresponds to the frequency of sound that is required (i.e. base on input signal). They appear to be focussing on earbuds first (smart, as more chips per wafer = lower cost per chip) before moving to mobile devices. Their chips have sound qualities like AKP's from what I can tell, interestingly it's the lower sound frequencies (i.e. longer duration between sound pressure pulses compared to higher frequencies) that are loudest, which makes sense as there's more time to store the air pressure before it gets released.
