its not unsual in accounting. you can have inventory paid for and not sold yet. marketing expenses can count towards future quarters income tax paid and other things.
here is an example . look at HY1 FY 2023 as per the attached photos. cash flow was -ve by almost 600 k and there was a profit 1.2 m.
