To be fair, I think his passion was about the science.
He is not responsible for screw ups by others, and I suspect he stands to lose, or gain, more than most of us.
As for Farmer Bob, all he ever did was share what he believes to be true (I hope).
We are responsible for our choices. I'm still hoping my choices will eventually make me very wealthy. I stand to lose a lot otherwise.
