- I can’t give you a precise numbers, but most suppliers will charge per GBq for radiometal isotopes. Of course, this depends on the agreement between Northstar and Clarity. In most cases of isotope manufacture, the majority of the cost is incurred through commencing a batch rather than the amount of activity produced in the batch.
- I have wondered the same. It seems a few of radiometal therapies aim for around the 7 to 8 GBq mark per dose - 177Lu-based PSMA-I&T is another - I don’t know enough about the history of the products to understand why they’ve settled on that number. Other factors (clinical - monitoring with a pairing diagnostic product over multiple sessions allows treatment to be tracked on a case-by-case basis; logistics - safe transport of larger amounts of isotope) may come into play
- And of course (more commercially speaking - wealthcare), having a patient undergo several rounds of therapy and diagnostic (without taking up a bed for days on end) is great business
