Your point is a good one - CIVID is the secondary line of research. In the last 12 months, the COVID space has become even more crowded - with the result that the competition has become much fiercer - prospects of a commercial deal much less likely.

Personally, I still think that the COVID trial was a bridge too far - and resources should have been applied purely to the HIV trials alone. They may have speeded up the release of the HIV results as well.
