A lot of negativity for a supposed holder, and you have missed one important point.
If results to date are promising, it makes far more sense for the company to extend these trials for an additional quarter or so to collect as much data as possible (within a reasonable market timeframe). Upon release of final results this adds far more strength to the announcement and facilitates greater movements in SP as a result. I would prefer this outcome over an earlier release backed by a less-significant data set.
