If you want a example of how poor Australian politicians at every level are just look at the last 50 years of car manufacturing. How about wavepower for governments trying to pick winners with funding from ARENA and WA govts etc- that didn't create competitive economic product . Governments are poor at picking winners and cause bias in the marketplace and even worse they don't take equity so if there is a success or later takeover they get something back for shareholders.
