Sorry Hogana, I don't think this is true. Working in the industry, and being responsible for costing these things on AWS, I've never seen a price increase on a like-for-like basis.
Yes, costs go up - because you generally use more service, or you're using a more expensive service. But I firmly believe that costs for the same service (e.g. EC2 instance type) has never gone up and has only ever gone down.
It's very, very concerning that AWS costs are still so high when revenue (so presumably client utilization) is way down. Not surprising, just concerning. Really puts spotlight on the "90% gross margin" argument.
