Unfortunately nobody wants to be accountable. And those who should be accountable, often have it in their own best interest to not have quality testing.
Why would an Australian importer advocate to tax a product they import? Why would they risk quality testing when they know that the products they either produce or import are not at the reported standards. There is no incentive from the ‘majority’ of suppliers. In this case, you are punished for adhering to higher standards.
But, this is why ECS has taken it upon itself to send a sales team (I’d rather refer to them as educators) to get the message across at the grass roots level, instead of letting it trickle through and be watered down in the process. GPs are more often than not, intelligent people, who act with the best interest of their patients. To educate them on the benefits of the ECS product alongside the risks of alternate brands would be relatively straight forward. It’s just about raising awareness, as a GP wouldn’t want to prescribe a product with downstream effects on currently ‘accepted’ toxins in products (mainly fertilizers).
So, time will tell. Hopefully the sales team are able to muster up new prescriptions and shift brand preference to the Australian grown and processed, Pesticide free, Organic, Reliable and Trustworthy ECS brand. That is the difference. The Australian Cannabis industry is currently alike to selling Temu products at David Jones and passing them off as premium.
