Interesting but irrelevant observation, their 4Cs do tend to be larger file size, but they contain a large volume of images at a very high quality (high resolution and low loss). 2D image image compression like that applied to PDF files is what's known as 'lossy' compression (JPEG), which uses "inexact approximations and partial data discarding to represent the content. These techniques are used to reduce data size for storing, handling, and transmitting content." (Wikipedia) Effectively, high compression JPEGs are crappy quality - see examples below.
Why do Pointerra choose to render their PDF in high quality? who cares, but maybe to present a high quality product?
More importantly, this type of compression has no relationship at all to the patented technology they developed for 3D data compression, storage and retrieval to enable massive cloud data sets to be streamed on typical broadband connections.
