SAFETY REVIEW: Trial enrolment continues while a review is underway (which they stated in the report). So, I think that one is settled.
HOLIDAYS EFFECT: Since this is in the Emergency section of healthcare, the holiday period (which affects elective/planned healthcare services) should not apply, unless there are specific teams of doctors needed for this, and they all decide to go on leave, during the busiest time for their departments! Unlikely.
I bet (as long as safety says keep going), this will go faster for two reasons;
a) Increased familiarity: recruitment gets easier as more and more people become familiar with the protocol, and,
b) A bit of competitiveness that is inherent in healthcare (not in a bad way by the way): for every 2 dosed, one gets the drug that might just improve their survival and quality of life! Why not?
