There is no doubt Pointerra is an early player in digital twinning. Equally there’s no doubt a lot of their customers and prospective customers still don’t know exactly what they want or how to get there.
Who can blame them? There’s numerous ways that utilities currently manage their network. Ranging from:
physical inspection photogrammetry Nerf Video (by drone) Lidar etc
You can see just how difficult it might be as a tech/ transformation team to work out what’s best.
What might help though? Oh I don’t know, maybe a DOE saying “and this is the methodology and platform ALL utilities should be using”. And I think that’s what IO and Randy believe too.
I don’t mind people taking the piss outa Pointerra. Heck they earned it fair and square.
But it also makes it the best time to accumulate IF you have done your research and believe the company can still execute.
