What would a full course cost? I understand it's $1.5 million dollars, is that right?


SI: Something along those lines, yeah. The justification for the way pricing and reimbursement works in the US is what does it cost to treat a child with acute GVHD and in fact it turns out that a child who dies of this disease struggles for months in intensive care and actually costs the hospital system an extra million plus to treat the child who would otherwise die with this disease but who otherwise is saved and does not die of this disease, so that's just the sort of way of looking at it. In fact, beyond that is what is the value of every year of life gained for a child who is kept alive and you can do those calculations over let's say a 10 to 20 year period for a three to five year old. What is the value of every year gained? If you do that sort of analysis then really the value of our treatment is somewhere between 3.2 to 4.2 million dollars per child.

Of course, what's a child's life worth? It's worth anything.

SI: I mean there are people who actually do this for a living and they can actually calculate this, right. Those calculations give you exactly the numbers I've just told you, 3.2 to 4.2 million based on quality of life gained for every child that does not die of this disease. We think that's why the reimbursement agencies are fine to cover this product because of the impact it has on both the children, their families and the hospitals.
