I have a BA in Humanities, so my history is pretty good. Have always been interested for as long as I can remember, which naturally lead to studying history at school etc.

It seems to me that you're confusing colonialism for the present. History must be interpreted, that is, understanding the causes for human actions in the past within the context of that past. Powerful nations in days gone by expanded into the new world, very often at the expense of conquered people. Importantly, Russia and China are not immune form such colonial methods either. Both made territorial expansions throughout their long histories. Most importantly, they continue today: Ukraine and Tibet etc.....

Historical revisionism is poor science.

Do you think Russia's most recent attack on the Ukraine may have anything to do with the West's attempts at defending the Ukraine? If your theory of western imperialism today stands, then why hasn't the west done anything about Russia's invasions of Chechnya, Georgia, Dombas and the Crimea?
