Agree, I think even if the conflict ended tomorrow the US/European Union wouldn't suddenly switch off sanctions and start the Nord 2 gas pipeline which is so needed by Germany and Western Europe. Even if it is just ego these sanctions will likely stay in place to various degrees for years to come which is putting further pressure on an already looming gas shortage, hence the price spikes.

And remember batteries don't make energy they only store it, and you need even more fossil fuels to build the "green" energy infrastructure in the short term if they want to hit their 2050 target let alone 2030.
