I don't know the rules for tenement holdings in Chile, but I assume they're somewhat similar to other first world countries where:

- a company must pay an annual tenement holding fee, based on the tenement area and jurisdiction etc;
- a company must meet a minimal in ground tenement spend (may be over 12, 24, 48 months etc), from boots on the ground exploration, airborne survey(s), drilling, usually cannot be corporate admin and wages etc;
- meet a minimum set of social / local stakeholder responsibility guidelines.

Failure to meet any of the above will usually result in forfeiture of said tenements and/or ability to apply for new tenements within country for some set period.
