Can someone with field-based mining experience advise if the staged crushing noted below would contribute to an increased level of fines. I'm presuming it would.

If the level of fines were to decrease and more of the raw product go through the HLS, recovery rates would appear likely to increase beyond this 72.6% estimate. Currently this modelling is a 0% recovery rate from 20.9% of the lithium units and about 35% of the raw material represented as fines. This is offset by a huge 91.8% recovery rate for the material that was of an appropriate size to go through Heavy Liquid separation (72.6 divided by 79.1). Fines will always be part of the mix but these percentages do seem high. A multi-stage incremental crushing process may however create above-average fines.

I guess we need to wait for the 99t bulk test results from North Aubry because having established a sensible (but probably not quite fully optimised) crush size / DMS settings, sizable samples can be put through this configuration for a good real-life recovery rate estimate.
