I wouldn't get excited, the manganese ore price is up due to S32 taking advantage of the situation in Ga*b*on by jacking up the 44% grade price due to the collapse of 900m of railway line in Ga*b*on due to a landslide. The railway tracks will be repaired soon enough and trains will be moving again. Its most likely a short term blip in the Mn ore for a few months max.

"Nine hundred meters of the railway track collapsed in Ga*b*on on December 24, 2022, and Eramet’s ore transportation trains ran off the track. Although the restoration work of the track completed, the transportation of manganese ore was not resumed yet. Many market participants explained that South32 raised the price because the supply concern for the high-grade manganese ore would still continue."
