That has nothing to do with the new roles Nic and Ian C hold/held at ASM. When it comes to doing CR it will be the CEO and his team putting proposal to the BoDs and make the case for it. The BoDs will look at the pros and cons and decide to support it or turn it down.
Now when the BoD discusses the proposal they take in consideration the Directors with most experience on the subject. Being financing proposal the technical directors would have just voted along with what the Chair and probably one other Dir (with relevant background) would have suggested.
If it was a proposal regarding some kind of investment to improve the metallurgy, I'd say Nic E would have played key role on whether the BoDs gives the go ahead or turn it down.

So the question is - did the old CEO proposed CR at the top and if not then did the Interim CEO proposed such while shares were still in the clouds. And if neither did then why the Chair (being such big businessman) did not see the opportunity and suggest it to the CEO? Did they all fall asleep behind the wheel?
But I would not hold Nic E and Ian C responsible for the financial side of things at ASM. And you know I am not shy to be critical of them if I see it that way.
we are speculating here and only put forward my own views. If I was shareholder, I would have asked these questions and get some clarity on what is actually going on.
