I'm a bit of a map geek. Did anyone notice howe close Ellenvale South opencut mine is to the wash plant? Maybe 1-2k, that's all. Coal from Burton has to travel 35k north to the wash and then more south to the loadout plant. This isn't too bad but Ellenvale coal will have to be hauled a bit over half the distance. This mine is scheduled to start producing some time in next month, September, maybe late in the month. This will result in somewhat lower costs.

Automated train loaders take a bit under 1 hour to load a 100 wagon train, about the standard size on this line. Each carries about 8,500 tons. They are electric trains. Narrow gauge. M<aybe if electricity supply or cost became a concern, they could run diesels?
