    Going off the ASX announcement dated 4 August 2021, Ellensfield South and the other Burton pits are expected to have a processing yield of around 63% with a product split of 60% coking coal and 40% thermal coal.

    That is because these mines target the Rangal Coal Measures which have usually have poor coking attributes in the coarse size fractions. That is why they are generally washed two stage, to generate primary coking and secondary thermal / PCI products.

    The coking coal looks to be a mid-volatile hard coking coal (reflectance 1.10 - 1.22%) but these Rangals don't normally produce high CSR coals due to the ash chemistry. It would probably trade at 80-85% of hard coking coal index (Platts premium LV HCC). The seconday product is a thermal with 16-20% ash content, energy just above the Newcastle benchmark.
