Hi fishfordayz,
I took the opportunity to speak to Frank Bennett last night and I suggest all fellow investors who are concerned about AVM's lack of value and progress do so and contact the CEO.
Obviously within the bounds of continuous disclosure obligations he was very happy to talk about AVM.
I would make the following points from our discussion.
- Frank when taking on the job at AVM was also surprised by the low market cap of AVM.
- He thought having 3 - 5 projects was about the right mix for a company this size.
- Was very positive about the latest project, Augustus. He highlighted that Arizona was an extremely mining friendly state with warm temperatures where winter weather does not affect work unlike other states in the US.
- For Augustus (and the other tenements for that matter), their strategy is to look at historical data from previous miners or tenement owners and combine this with new technological techniques to develop the best possible drill targets.
- The JV with Bandera is also assisting with this tenement analysis.
- Frank long term is very bullish about the need for copper for both electric vehicles and electricity network. Tenements that have Copper with other metal credits (eg gold and silver) are the preferred copper tenements.
- Elko is a high quality coking coal asset, however it is located in British Columbia (BC) which is a challenging area to get approvals and port space to mine coal in.
- GP Hydro, apologies, I forgot to ask about this.
- Idaho, analysis of both the gold and copper tenements continue, there is just more admin associated with the Forrestries body when compared with Arizona.
- I asked about the possibility of a dual listing in the US to have the company valued at a more higher and what I believe a more accurate level, however he was not able to comment on this.
- He was a very nice and intelligent guy who was happy to talk, however playing devils advocate, I have never seen a cranky director towards shareholders when cash balances are low.
- Shares on issue of approx 580m was discussed, US investors think that is too many shares, Australian investors consider it a low amount of shares.
This is not advice in anyway.
Hope this helps.
