Just thinking on this a little further - I haven't read much about the Xplor program but it's clearly tapping into the BHP IP. Now.... I'd assume that there's many execs in the explorer world that are simply top class explorers. They need luck, but they also need the foresight and the skills to take nothing to something to an asset.

What are the credentials of the people within BHP that input into this program?

I assume that these individuals are there to
    • a) find prospective land for BHP to peg (although this isn't common for them, they're much more into acquisition once risk is reduced)
    • b) find the explorers that BHP needs to keep an eye on.

I'm assuming that it's b) because KRM are looking at resources critical to BHPs strategy and growth (in their own words) but I'd love to know what is behind the BHP door that helps here.

Clearly, they have vast datasets. By the looks of it, they probably have the software and algorithms to churn through this and highlight opportunity / reduce risk. But I wonder if the Xplor program has amazing human IP, or if it's really only access to this data powerhouse
