I always thought the open pit section of that justified taking it that far, the underground section was questionable. It really doesn't take a huge resource to be worthwhile in my opinion if you can get to it easily enough. 75,000 ounces at 3000 bucks an ounce is 250m bucks. If they are only building a few roads and not a new plant then it can't be that hard surely.
