Not entirely true as you can burn green-hydrogen for generation (green part being that it was electrolysed using green energy). GE has excellent fleet of 100% H2 compatible gas turbines that can be used to retrofit conventional thermal plant to continue to provide baseline generation capabiliy.

In fact one of the recently build gas plants that is being commissioned right now in NSW has a mandate for fuel compatibility with future H2 feedstock.
I do support nuclear though as a more efficient way to generate CO2 free power, there is though an ongoing of public perception and nuclear waste disposal that prevents nuclear from coming back en masse into the baseline mix around the world (especially here in Australia).
