The charge for DBCM facility is currently about $3.50 a ton, this can be checked on their website. DCMB is a listed company. Space has to be booked and paid for in advance and it is a take-or-pay contract for all clients.

There seem to be about 30 bulk carriers at any time waiting to load coal moored offshore in the ship roads , from DCMB or Hay Point. Looks like all miners are paying some demurrage. There will have been some due to the cyclone delays. Probably applies to all Bowen Basin shippers.

The trains are about 100 wagons, carrying 8,500 tons each. The cost of train loading will lower now the automatic loader is up and running. Fast turnaround, lower train hours per load. i.e. Higher productivity. Looks like train operators, big businesses indeed, have some manning problems around Dec Jan a.t.m., this is likely true all over. Its been hot and humid up there, for sure.
