That's becausecthat is where the spend will be basically..
it' the same model Antilles runs on, as trialled & proven in the Dom Rep project..
Only the Gov welched on their signed contractual obligations by not putting in a stand alone tailings treatment dam & also by charging tax right from the very get go, thus renigging on the typical capital clawback claim.
They prove up an easily accessed resource with good metwork qualities to suit a modular turnkey extraction process.
Offtake partner upon satisfaction of their own metwork testing puts up the cash to build the plant & start the mine in return for guarranteed offtake resource qty's on tonnage basis as identified in the production target derived from the process flowsheets.
Turnkey scenarios similar to the Glencore product have very robust & proven economics which are virtually guarranteed provided all parties comply with agreed contractual req..
The re-use factor of the same dam Antilles drew from to process the tailings in the DR simply stripped away the quoted yield & hence the total output was never what was agreed upon.
Here it is the Chinese BGRIMM wanting the gold & possibly the copper concentrates produced from what is an amenable oxide ore.. In other words a straight forward process with cheap (circa $20-25m usd) start up costs and a 12m construction timeline to first production.

So that element will start paying for itself very shortly, should the final metwork checks stack up?

No reason why they wouldn't at this point.

LA Dem is a tougher proposition due to a higher arsenic content in a sulphide ore body..

Arsenic penalties crept & the project became marginal so a rethink & pivot to Gold / Antimony & a D'ore instead of a concentrate is being worked through now by Metwork team before shopping it around also.

Resource is already known so it comes down to the prevailing economics & the chemistry involved in delivering a product to the customer without penalty..

Trafigura having upped their rate to transport the old concentrate for said arsenic after initially being more open to a less costly tariff.

WHO are all over the Chinese polluters & arsenic became top of the pops in that regard just as a deal was being belted out..

So whats left, drilling DDH holes a 1000m down sulphide veinworks looking for the copper porphyry source..

Farmin partner would be great about now but the world has turned on its head 3 - 4 times lately with Russia v Ukraine (& the West).. China v America (who think they are the West) & Cuba v American Embargoes (still in place from Bay of Pigs stoush & not likely to ease any time soon)...

The last reason being the main one as to why a Dom Rep type situation wouldn't happen again.. Why, well simply because the Cuban Gov isn't stupid it's just of a socialist agenda. ;-)

You don't kill the golden goose or bite the hand that feeds.. ?

It'll take a little longer (has already) than what people hope for but show me something that is coming in on time & budget at the moment..

Biz be going bust for a reason..

Anyway lets see what tomorrow brings..
