Certainly a possibility. Presumably there was a reason for applying QAQC? Particularly, because the hole is significant, as the Sly Fox assay's were.

I am just guessing that it was because the assay results were not what they were expecting.

In the case of Sly Fox, Simon seemed quite excited at what they were seeing prior to the assays coming back. I did wonder at the time why there was a delay and why they felt the need to apply QAQC. When the results came back with an average grade, the most obvious explanation to my mind was that they didn't quite match what they had seen out of the hole. He clearly had stated in a recent presentation that the style of mineralisation was similar to Never Never, so I wondered if he was expecting similar grades.

That's just the way it goes with gold, you can never be sure where the high grade sections are until you drill and assay. But you can get a feel for the geology and make educated guesses about what you might find.
