Forgot to add - its not just about assays either, its about all geology, surveys and other physical data like density measurements. So Quality Assurance would be something like having a policy on doing downhole surveys on all drill holes so you know where the drill holes and the samples are. Quality control is more like the thing of putting down-hole cameras on test stands of known dips and azimuths to make sure the downhole survey camera is reliable and taking them out of service if they are say more than a certain amount out of tolerance.
