I'm also intrigued by the prospect of 300MW at Moranbah, considering there's nothing the vicinity even close to that volume.
Moranbah North is a 63 MW plant already supplied by gas from the coal mine, and Moranbah, a 13 MW series of gensets that also have existing gas supply.
Interestingly however, Transfield were going to build a 3 stage power station to 300 MW in 2006 (and 300 MW in Nebo) but it never progressed, from memory it failed because they couldn't source the water? Eventually the site was consumed by Dyno Nobel and the current Moranbah generation facility. There's no new projects in EIS atm so I'm at a loss to think what else it could be?
Is their plan to buy the project and reinvigorate it?
