It should be noted that the real strength of MLX is metallurgy and MLX still owns a big chunk of NC1 which also seems to be strong in metallurgy. Not a random coincidence I think.
Digging stuff out of the ground is fine, but usually is low margin. Being able to process it to refined metal or pretty close has much better margins. Also requires a much rarer skill set.
It should be noted that the real strength of MLX is metallurgy...
