Really glad that PWN will be scheduling a webinar for tomorrow. I am finding the quarterlies increasingly more cryptic, maybe this is a good sign that finalisation of negotiations and sign-offs are close.

I never noticed before that PWN is calling their products "green chemicals", can anyone point out if there was any earlier reference where this was made pre-dating the December Quarter. I now understand @Mer earlier references to "green chemicals" which I didn't pick up was a direct reference from PWN - sorry mate.

While I understand that PWN are adopting a eco-friendly and sustainable business approach particularly the sustainable and ethical sourcing of the brine feedstock, the carbon footprint analysis and transparency and reporting aspects covering the entire brine-to-product supply chain to achieve green certification I think may be challenging. If we can achieve green certification this is truly massive, as I thought that there were only a couple of sodium hydroxide producers with this cert globally, all in Europe. This would fit in nicely with the Australian federal government initiative for Green Alumina and in turn Green Aluminum production as earlier pointed out by mer.

Because of the more environmentally friendly alternatives available to Hydrochloric Acid I did not think that a green certification was available for HCI.


Nice bit of land potentially waiting for someone in Fisherman's Landing next to Cement Australia (a PWN client, NaOH is used in the manufacturing process for some cement blends) and Coogee Chemicals Acid Terminal and just up the road from Orica (a PWN client, NaOH is used as a feedstock for sodium cyanide production produced at this facility). Orica is one of the leaders for sustainability among major chemical companies in Australia and is moving towards green certification of their products.
