I’m not sure the EIA process is anywhere near complete…LKE have got no idea, how they are going to Power the joint. The General Environmental Law No. 25675 and National Law No. 24585 (Environmental Protection for Mining Activity) govern theEIAprocess in Argentina.
These laws require an EIA to comprehensively address environmental impacts,includingenergy use.
The Catamarca Ministry of Mining evaluates the EIA based on criteria like environmental sustainability, resource management, and mitigation measures. Energy supply is one aspect of the project’s operational plan.
The EIA must detail how the project will meet its energy needs and assess the environmental impact of the energy source. For the Kachi Project, which uses Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE), energy is critical for processing lithium brine.
