PD just liked a LinkedIn post from the corporate account of Silvercorp Metals discussing the mining opportunity in Ecuador.
They seem to own two sites, one Gold/Copper, one Gold, in Ecuador in relative proximity to our sites; Condor is in the south near Bramaderos, El Domo is more in the middle of the country so not quite as close to El Palmar.
Silvercorp is a $1.1bn market cap Canadian company, with $355m cash on hand and have been actively acquiring in recent years. They have two operating mines, two in construction and list "incubating opportunities in early-stage investments" in their Growth Strategy presentation. It looks like Condor, the site close to Bramaderos, is a recent acquisition from March 2024.
Could be reading too much into this, but if I was to point a finger at a potential partner, this would be the profile. Definitely doesn't fit the profile of the privately held asset we'd be purchasing, but very much fits the sort of shop who would have the cash, local knowledge and appetite to do a site visit.
