NST inserted themselves a contractor (Northern Star Mining Services) without, as the story goes, any consultation with their 49% minority shareholders TBR and RND. To do this they terminated Barminco @ $850/oz.
TBR/RND wouldn't have wanted to take actions against NST as they have enjoyed harmonious JV relationships for over a decade with the predecessors. NST have, IMO, acted oppressively and the only way to bring their greedy ways back into line is through the courts. The current court action will not be the last as I am sure TBR/RND will take this first one as lessons learnt before they go after the jugular.
There is a centuries-old Kalgoorlie code broken by NST. NST has shat on the front lawn of TBR/RND after enjoying dinner at their table. They may be a bigger beast, but NST should not under-estimate the fight in the dog!
