One of the key skills to be a good investor is discipline and in particular to have the discipline and patience to hold good stocks even when they temporarily stagnate rather than selling to 'get into the next good thing.' Lots of investors have FOMO so they sell stocks they like to buy something that appears more attractive on the day. Often they regret their decision later when the sold stock outperforms.
