It is worth remembering that for every seller there has to be a buyer. It's just the majority of the aggressive orderflow is on the sell side for most likely the reasoning that backspacer mentioned. It is not unheard of for brokers to target obvious stop levels for liquidity to buy.
Sentiment is ambivalent for mine as opposed to outright bearish. Plenty on the sidelines waiting to see if their execution can lift in the coming months. If not then why not wait for the inevitable raise and see what's what then.
