There were a couple of reasons I sold.
1) I have held for ages and had the 12month Cap. gains advantage, so I won't pay much tax on profit.
If I buy back in now I got to hold for another 12months before that happens again and I just couldn't see much upside "just now". I will get back in if it goes around the low to mid $.20's.
2) Charts , atleast now are showing a bit of a retrace possible, that's how I read it.
3) Gold is harder to find even if ALK is doing a 'VERY" great job mining!
4) The time frames keep being moved further out.....always! I would have started/ built the plant now, something atleast. I said ages ago they should have built a smaller plant then scale it up! Now after two years this is the plan ALK has decided is best. I'm no expert but am in the building trade .......JUST START something, lay concrete etc.
5) I am in another stock, with gold etc and a plant that needs refurbishing and that will take approx 6 months . And cost a few million. ALK haven't got funding, haven't put out purity results of their samples in over a year since they were submitted for testing. ALK hasn't even started a plant! So there is another 2 years to wait.
In my trade there are always delays, just imagine a separation plant of this complexity and see what happened to LYNAS, but they are now up and going!
6) I need to see growth or progress in my investments and ALK wasn't doing that, hopefully it will go forward sometime!

I just saw better opportunity elsewhere and will come back in when something is stirring!
Just a note: I first bought ALK in 1987 post crash and have traded in and out over a number of years. I never had any when they went to $2.66. But sad to see where they are now.

I also want to add the AISC to mine the gold is so high and the strip ratio if I read it right was 16.6.
They are profitable but boy is it costly! Banks would be looking at debt serviceability and no returns for plant while it was being built!
