Given I own more than the buy order put in yesterday, I had to satisfy my curiosity on the restrictions on buying for directors.  Turns out each company has to set up its own trading window rules and it varies depending on the company, so for smaller caps and/or those with lower liquidity rules, longer periods apply.  This is all set out in https://www.asx.com.au/documents/rules/gn27_trading_policies.pdf  and so I predict a director was buying in the trading window available after the release of year end results, and he/she chose a low point in the share price to secure what was sought.
