David Greenberg (CEO) has said several times his focus is all about increasing market share over the first 12-months; it's not about generating revenue during this period. Given this, it's not accurate to say, given they only generated $9k with 2.6% market share in Dec '15 .. then they will need to generate 50x's the current market share to earn $530k, their current burn rate
Once the company's market share is achieved, they want to focus on generating revenue from corporates (insurers, utility companies, banks, cable) - this is where the company's major revenues will come from.
The money they get from realestate agencies/property management/movers is going to be small relative to the what the company really wants - money for big corporates who want the information and opportunities about those relocating!
Once UPD have a decent market share, they will hold some very valuable information about who is moving & where, well in advance of others (about 6-8 weeks out). Can you imagine the number of corporate who would like this information? Now I'm not saying UPD will directly sell this info/analytics (in fact, David has clearly said he would never do this), but it's this info that UPD will utilise to their advantage to get the corporates paying big dollars to partner/advertise with UPD so they can try to get/or keep new business.
David Greenberg and his team are very impressive. I am confident if anyone can lead this company to success, they can. This has the potential to be very big! I missed the IPO but have been loading up since, in my opinion in 12 months time many investors will be kicking themselves they didn't get in early!
