BM operates the BRK business in the USA. They have the geo, the reservoir engineer, the operations manager ,the land woman, the operating consultants.
BRK could have set up the structure so that the BM team were directly employed by BRK but DP wanted to incentivise the team to deliver only tier 1 assets and develop them to produce tier 1 results. Their salaries are way below market but they will be very well rewarded for their performance, which up to now has been exceptional .
