The announcement does not say that the objection has been determined. It actually says the agreement was to pay half the primary tax and interest charge pending the outcome of the objections lodged by the company.

The objection is an independent review from another area within the ATO. If the objection is disallowed or only partially allowed, then the company can appeal through the courts process as mandated by legislation.

My point is the ATO still has not finalised the objection, which says to me that after 12 months they may still be looking for a settlement.
